Congregation B'Nai Israel's religious school meets three times per month September through May. (See Schedule for dates).
Classes accommodate children whose ages span from pre school to Bar/Bat Mitzvah age. When requested, post Bar/Bat Mitzvah
classes have been arranged.
All teachers are adults with some teaching experience. The school curriculum includes learning about the Jewish holidays,
Bible, current events related to Judaism, Jews, and Israel, and learning Hebrew. Each session includes age based classroom
study and an assembly for all students.
The Religious school has 5 levels. Listed below are the levels, age group for each level, and Hebrew introduced.
Level 1: Preschool, Kindergarten, introducing Hebrew letters

Level 2: 1st and 2nd grades, Hebrew beginning level
Teacher: Lowell Louis
Level 3: 3rd, 4th, 5th grades, Hebrew intermeidate
Teacher: Sharman Kitzis
Level 4: 6th and 7th grades
Teacher: Barbara Kuhn
Level 5: Bar and Bat Mitvah preparation
Teacher: Gary Wolfman
Many post Bar/Bat Mitzvah young adults serve as teachers assistants. We are so pleased to have them remain committed and
involved in our Jewish community.
